Director: Luo Chuliang 
Main tasks: Responsible for data collection, collation and initial processing on the distribution of income related research. Its purpose is to provide valid data for the academics within the Institute and research centers.
Main direction of studying:
1.the collation of relevant databases on income distribution (e.g. CHIPs, database for co-operation subject )
2.descriptive statistics for each database work
3.Integration of the relevant databases
4.comparative analysis of different databases work (horizontal, vertical)
 

Center for Plicy Simulation

Director: Li Shi
Main tasks: Applying computable general equilibrium and Australia STINMOD (Static Income Micro simulation Model) to evaluate the effects on income distribution of related policies and provide corresponding suggestions.
Research purpose: Based on the relevant empirical research methods, we can simulate income distribution policies and income distribution effects of other relevant policies. The simulation and evaluation system can provides a solid theoretical foundation for the implementation of policies, so we can explore practical effect, growth prospects and improvement project.
Main direction of studying:
1. The income distribution effects simulation of related policies

Center for Wage and Income Distribution 

Director: Xing Chunbing
Main tasks: Conducting research on wage and income distribution, especially focusing on tracking measure the income gap between resident individuals change at the micro-level; studying influencing factors of changes in the income gap between resident individuals; exploring the national income among the institutional sectors as well as the characteristic of change on functional income distribution changes and its affecting factors at the macro-level. 
Research purpose: combining with China’s national conditions, we can go into the wage system wage determination mechanism and wages in the role of income distribution system      by modern economics research methods and finally provide theoretical and empirical support for public policy.
Main direction of studying:
1. Wage levels and changes in the wage gap during economic transition
2. Wage determination
3. The influence of human capital to wages
4. The influence of technology to wage structure
5. The influence of wage system and its reform to wages
6. The salary gap research between different groups and inner groups

Center for Poverty Research

Director: Yue Ximing
Main task: Researching on the topics of poverty in China, especially focusing on the variation of urban and rural poverty in the process of economic growth and its poverty alleviation policy.
Research purpose: Taking advantage of income distribution and development economics and other related methods, we can provide theoretical support for realizing anti-poverty by analyzing the income level of rural and urban poor, income characteristics, distribution of poverty population and its solutions.
Main direction of studying:
1. The status of the urban and rural poverty, change and features
2. The level of income and its characteristics of urban and rural poverty
3. The relationships and interactions between Economic growth and poverty
4. Poverty differences research of different regions and groups
5. Poverty alleviation policy of regions and its comparisons
6. The formulation and implementation effects of anti-poverty system
 

Center for Wealth Research

Director: Wan Haiyuan
Main task: Cellect and survey the data of high income population, reserach on the distribution and structure of wealth, evaluate the distribution effects of public policies.
Research purpose: According to the emprical approaches, analyze the scale and distribution of resident wealth, the distribution effect of public polices, and track the hot and difficult issues of wealth distribution.
Main direction of studying:
1. Household wealth accumulation and distribution
2. The structure of household wealth
3. The expenditure mode of high wealth population
4. The relationship between wealth gap and macro economic structure
5. The realtionship between wealth gap, labor participation rate and save rate
